Kaskinen is a small, idyllic town situated on an island on the Gulf of Bothnia.

The town has a unique town plan with wooden houses with large gardens giving a garden village effect in the summer.

The population of Finland´s smallest town numbers some 1400, of whom 70 % are Finnish speaking and 30 % Swedish speaking.

In spite of its small size, Kaskinen offers its inhabitants a good service infrastructure.
